Kat began teaching Music Together® in 2004 after completing her undergraduate degree in vocal performance and musical theater from Northwestern University and her master's degree in vocal performance from Boston University. After graduate school, Kat moved to New York City where she continued studying and performing. Her singing career brought her to perform with companies such as Chicago Opera Theater, Aspen Opera Theater, Boston Lyric Opera, Utah Opera and Symphony, Glimmerglass Opera, Madison Opera, the Boston Symphony and off-broadway.
During this time she also began teaching for Upper West Side (Manhattan) Music Together and has enjoyed being a part of the Music Together community ever since. Kat has presented to the Wisconsin Family Childcare Association and the Great River Association Education of Young Children (NYEAC affiliate) about the importance of music in early childhood development. The excitement of bringing music into the lives of young children along with the joy of seeing a parent or caregiver rediscover and nurture their own inner musician inspired Kat to begin teaching Music Together in La Crosse, WI in 2010. She is so grateful for the local Music Together community--hundreds of children and families--that have shared in the joy of having silly musical fun together. She and her husband Liam have two children, Maeve and Eamon. Kat is also a member of the musical theater department at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
